Stereotaxis Just Bought Its Way Into a Bigger Robot

Stereotaxis has closed its previously announced purchase of Robocath, the French robotics developer, folding it fully into its existing surgical business. The deal closed in early July, strengthening Stereotaxis's position across endovascular procedures.

The combined company says the merger speeds development of next generation robotics spanning electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, and neurointervention. Both firms held complementary but separate technology bases before the deal, and Robocath's founder and chief executive called it a chance to combine expertise across both organizations.

Momentum backs up the timing. Stereotaxis reported robotic catheter revenue up 270 percent sequentially last quarter, alongside its first U.S. hospital sale of the GenesisX robotic system, due for installation this fall.

Several Synchrony digital operating room systems have also shipped and been installed following FDA clearance earlier this year. Together, the numbers paint a business scaling fast on multiple fronts at once.

A wider pattern is at work across surgical and interventional robotics, where established platform makers buy specialized developers instead of building every capability from scratch. For hospitals choosing vendors, that consolidation increasingly means one supplier can offer integrated solutions across procedure types rather than forcing separate relationships for each specialty.
